PhysOrg - While some cybersecurity threats are easy to spot, others can be more challenging. Now, consider identifying those same threats with a visual impairment. It's the vulnerability of that population that inspired a team of Texas Tech researchers to find a better way. With funding from the National Science Foundation, the group has focused its efforts on translating visual security warnings into sounds that best represent the threat.

Syracuse - The YMCA's Downtown Writers Center is set to deliver great programming for writers and readers this fall. As we transition between the seasons, the DWC is also offering new transitional writing programs between their summer and fall schedules. "Ear Training for Writers: Timing and Musicality"will be taught by Eric Berlin on Saturday, Sept. 16 and "Prompts to Get You Through" with Georgia Popoff will be held on Mondays, Sept. 18 and 25. The deadline for registration is Sept. 12.
